What is the Vantis Tax Club? Certainly not the stuffy "gentleman's smoking room" gathering that the name might suggest! In fact, the Sidcup Club was established in 1996 and brings together interested clients and friends of the office four times a year to keep abreast of developments in tax legislation.
The format of the meetings covers a selection of practical tax topics in two half-hour presentations, followed by an open discussion session.
Topics covered include:
- Income tax, including employee and proprietor taxation
- Corporation tax
- Capital allowances
- VAT
- Inheritance tax
- Capital gains tax
- Corporate legislation
Each meeting commences at 5.30pm and lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on how long discussions can be sustained! A finger buffet and drinks are available after the meeting to enable members to network with fellow business professionals.
There are two membership options:
- "Pay as you go" which costs £50 per meeting; and
- "Annual subscription" which costs £150.
These costs are inclusive of VAT, all handouts and refreshments.
